The forces of nature can overwhelm us with their power and ferocity. But greater still is the power of God who has authority over heaven and earth. Noah witnessed a devastating flood as God’s judgment on human sin. But that judgment was followed by a new covenant and promise to show mercy. The disciples were afraid of Jesus because he could walk on water. But he had come, not to scare them, but to strengthen them by his presence. Lord, when we are tempted to fear, help us to trust in You.
