The prophet Amos and John the Baptist are two examples of courage in today’s readings. Both men were willing to speak up in defense of the truth even when it proved costly to do so. Cowardice and conniving have always existed within the halls of power. But they cannot stop God’s servants from speaking. Christ is our greatest defender and advocate! Lord, give us the courage to follow where he leads.
