It’s not often that we hear the Lord Jesus speak as harshly as he did to one of his closest disciples and dearest friends, Peter. “Get behind me, Satan!” What prompted such a reprimand? Peter was trying to keep Jesus from doing his greatest and most glorious work – going to the cross. Peter’s reliance on human “wisdom” was threatening to obstruct the salvation plan of God. Sometimes our ways of thinking get us into the same kind of trouble. Listen to Jesus, and let his word shape you in ways that are truly wise!
