“All good things must come to an end.” So it is said, and so we tend to believe. It’s common knowledge. But what did Jesus once say to a cynical bunch of Sadducees? “He [the LORD] is not God of the dead, but of the living, for all live to him.” (Lk 20) Listen to Jesus, and you will gain uncommon knowledge. Wisdom that transcends our day-to-day reality. In Jesus, we receive a life that cannot be boxed in by the grave or reduced to dust. Eternal life in Jesus unites us with our ancient ancestors: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses – and all who held on to God’s promises and staked their lives upon Him. “Praise the LORD!” (Ps 148)
