God’s mission is to bring all people to salvation through faith in Jesus. In today’s readings we hear how He propelled that mission forward in unexpected and miraculous ways. Jesus provided his disciples with a miracle catch of fish as a demonstration of the Gospel’s inherent power to draw people to faith (John 21). Later, he drafted a leading persecutor of Christians, Saul of Tarsus, to be his apostle to the Gentile world (Acts 9). God uses each of us, in our own way, to bear witness to His Son as the Savior. What is vital is that we trust Him to do this.
