“But I’m just a youth!” The prophet Jeremiah was feeling underqualified and ill equipped to speak the Word of God to an older and more experienced crowd. The LORD told him not to be afraid, but to trust that the Word itself would be enough, and the LORD would use him as a vessel for the blessing of Israel (Jer. 1). Centuries later, another young teacher would walk into a synagogue in Capernaum and speak with such authority that even the unclean spiritsĀ had to obey him (Luke 4). Lord, when we are not feeling up to the task of being Your representatives in the world, remind us that all power and authority relies on You!
