We continue our study of Colossians, focusing on Colossians 3:1-11. Here Paul exhorts the believers at Colossae to live out the calling of their baptism into Christ by setting their minds on heavenly (and not earthly) things. A life of sanctification requires a daily “putting to death” our old sinful desires, and “putting on” the virtues of Christ including his peace and his love. How does this relate to the idea that Christians are to be “in the world, not of the world”?
