One of the vital functions of God’s Law is to act as a mirror showing us where we have sinned by straying from His holy will. Read the 10 commandments (Ex. 20). Know them by heart, and use them on a regular basis to diagnose the sins in your life that need confessing. Jesus drove out the money changers from the Temple as a defense of God’s Holy Law concerning the Sabbath (John 2:15). But it was the destruction of another temple — his body — that would earn a pardon for our sins.
