Epiphany is a season of growing light. And today’s readings remind us that God’s Light shines in some very dark places. Jesus began his ministry in a region that was believed to be lost and forsaken by God. And he called humble fishermen to join him in his mission to that place. We rejoice that the light of Christ still shines into forsaken circumstances today, and we have a part to play in bringing it there.
