Can you remember the last time you were awestruck by the power of nature? Whether it’s huge waves crashing on the shore or the thunder crack and whipping wind of a severe thunderstorm, nature does have a way of putting us in our place. Such moments can remind us of the One who brought these primal elements into existence and still rules over them with supreme authority. Peter was headed to the bottom of the sea when Jesus reached out his hand and saved him. “In my distress I called upon the LORD…and my cry reached his ears.” (Ps.18:6)
