In what ways are human beings no different from other animals (3:18)? Give an example of a grave injustice in the world that frustrates you (4:2). Think of a person in your life who has blessed you by their friendship, and say a prayer of thanksgiving for them (4:10). What promises have you made before God (5:4)? Choose a verse from this section to commit to memory.
THE VOICE OF JESUS — Read Matthew 6:26 to hear about God’s love for both man and beast. Read Romans 12:19-21 to be reminded how Christians should respond to injustice. Read John 13:34 to hear Jesus’ admonition about friendship. Read Psalm 51:15 to be reminded of how our lips can also glorify God.
