Our study lesson for this Sunday will be Luke 21:5-24, “Jesus Foretells Destruction of the Temple”. The destruction of the Jerusalem temple by Roman armies in 70 AD brought a violent end to Jewish worship and its animal sacrifices. This act of divine judgment against Israel anticipated God’s final judgment when Christ returns on the Last Day. How should believers today think about that Day, and what effect does that have on our witness to Christ?
