We were honored to have Dr. Phillip Cary, Professor Of Philosophy at Eastern University, lecture at St. Peter. The lecture theme was: According to Martin Luther, the Gospel saves us because it is a word that gives us a person. It is the story of Christ that includes the promise of Christ. When we believe this promise we receive what it promises, which is Jesus Christ himself, together with all his blessings. This is a distinctive way of thinking about salvation and the knowledge of God, and it is good news.
